Roosevelt QFC staves off closure for four more months
The Roosevelt QFC was originally scheduled to close next month to make room for construction of the Roosevelt light rail station. But, thanks to a new lease agreement with Sound Transit, neighborhood shoppers could have another four months to utilize the grocery store.
QFC spokesperson Ken Banks said the lease was extended to May 2012, though there is no official closing date for the store yet.
According to Sound Transit, the extended QFC lease will not affect the construction schedule for the Roosevelt light rail station, which is slated to open in 2020.
